OH SHIT I FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM
i had another virus, and its infecting all my other files.
Goddamnit, i did a scan and alot of legitimate files are infected, plus some system files >.<
Guess im installing windows 7 early, and not waiting to backup hard drive.
If i was you, i would do a whole scan of your pc.

well to put that in terms most can understand you both most likely have a virus that is injecting it's self into various files, or avast is just screwing up after an update(not as likely)

before you go reinstalling your os i recommend you ****** "delf-MZG" as most of the postings are recent and from within the hour i believe it to be a problem caused by a recent update please wait and see if avast gets a fix for it.
btw i do not have the problem because about an hour ago i blocked avast from update via my firewall ><
[EDIT]
just found this on yahoo answers and can explain a couple things
Quote:
Win32 elf-MZG is a Trojan Virus.
The avast! update team made a mistake as one of the newest Trojan viruses uses the same script coding as most regular computer applications such as virus scanners (ex: it'll say spybot is a trojan, which isn't true).
The genius who created this virus did it so that the virus could smoothly pass under the radar as a valid computer application.
Wait for another avast! update, they'll fix this.
EDIT: To anyone saying remove the infection: if you do so, your programs will stop working.
