HI, im planning for a new pc( yes i have a p4 :P )
so i tought of the following setup
graphic card:
asus en9600gt (nvidia)
cpu:
intel core 2 duo
power:
coolermaster extreme power 460W
housing:
Coolermaster gladiator 600
Dvd writer:
lg- gh-22np20
Motherboard:
Asus p5q se plus( socket 775 )
hdd:
Western digital wd5001aals ( 500gig)
ram:
Kingstond hyperX 2gb ddr2-800

Almost what I have, and its a good system in my books. The graphics card plays most games at full settings so its a bonus.

I like the housing. IT has omfg 5 fan vents. Realy where for shoud you need so much

go for a quad core processor, seeing as they are getting cheaper now

if you want a good Core 2 Duo go for the E8400 or E8600 ( i have E8600)
but, if you wanna play heavy games like GTAIV at max without any problem, buy a quad core or a core 2 quad (if you like intel, xD)
there is no need to buy another graphics card, i think 9600GT is sufficient,
if you wanna go far buy a GTX 295 rofl
don't buy RAM DDR2, it f**** the performance lol, buy a compatible motherboard to DDR3 RAM, believe me
