a use of NPCs? - Daren_Jacobson - 07.10.2009

i was just thinking that you could record a player from connect to disconnect, and if you suspect them of cheating, run the recording as an NPC.
who thinks this would work.

comments pl0x.

Possible, but seems like a whole of effort for possibly inaccurate proof. The only thing you can't detect via scripting is health lock, and the recording doesn't pickup on players being desynced.

This wouldn't cause Bandwidth lag, just extra CPU, it records every half second relatively, shorter so if a player hits a key.

maybe you could /suspectofcheat and it would start recording, then if they airbraked or something, BAM, gotcha.

Yeah it could work, but I prefer /spec if you suspect someone of cheating.

i am talking about a player using the command, then being able to show it to the admins.

well they were saying it would slow down server by recording every player, but this was just an idea, and can be adapted and implemented as necessary.
