Kye should do a IV:MP. Since the current one sucks. (GTA IV Multiplayer.)

Re: The popularity of SA:MP and the future - Lewwy - 14.12.2008

I've only played the console version of GTA:IV Multiplayer.
Is it any different? I'm speaking to owners of the console version and PC.

It hasn't really. The slow down has been caused by forcing everyone to upgrade to 0.2X. We haven't forced everyone to update since the 0.2.2 release. It takes 4-6 weeks to see most of the servers and players update. If you monitor the player numbers throughout the peak time of day, you'll see 60-70% have upgraded to 0.2X.

A quick scan in the IV browser showed me 28 active games with about 100-130 players online right now. SA-MP has over 4000 people playing now and approaches 6000 during the peak time of day.

It's not really possible. IV on PC is bound to Games For Windows - Live which checks the code for modifications. Modding IV is going to be a big headache for anyone attempting it. There has already been an automatic update and you can't sign in to GWFL without applying the update.

Actually less lag, more crashes to me

Since IV is too good and high requirements to run, 60% of people who bought GTA IV complained, and 50% of people took their GTA IV back to where they bought it. It is highly ridiculous.
Saints Row 2 probably has the same requirements and it is 100x better.
On the other hand, the good old SA-MP will continue, GTA IV won't make any difference unless everyone buys an amazing computer today and run GTA IV.

I got an Xbox 360 about two weeks ago along with GTA IV. I played it for about 2 to 3 days .. I haven't touched it since.
IMO - There's nothing to worry about. Soon enough people will realize how shit it is and how poorly the mission have been written .. Sure, the graphics are pretty sweet, but it gets boring to quickly.

Go here and kill this guy. Steal his car. Take it back to him. Be his little bitch for a while until some mystery guy calls you and get a whole line of missions that are exactly the same as the last.

Yeah, I know this is how GTA was meant to be played, but it's not worth it. Despite how shit its multiplayer is.

SA-MP WILL LIVE ON!

Are you serious, Kyeman doesn't know how everything has been build..

Re: The popularity of SA:MP and the future - hipy - 24.12.2008

i dont think gta iv will become multiplayer popular.
since gta iv is more like cod, just kill kill kill
and sa-mp is scriptable

Re: The popularity of SA:MP and the future - SEC - 24.12.2008

yes,sa-mp needs more advertising. When I upload a video on ******* everyone is asking: "WTF! GTA sa got a multiplayer?"

Re: The popularity of SA:MP and the future - roleplayman - 24.12.2008

sa-mp needs more more features more new good scripts not just crappy edit's

Yep. No more crappy GF edits. There are, ofcourse, the odd 1 or 2 good Godfather edits...

Oh, and SA:MP needs client-side aswell as Serverside.

It's just a domain bought by the dev's of sa-mp.com .... That's all, nothing else.

Re: The popularity of SA:MP and the future - [IB]Scorcher - 24.12.2008

Oh, right. It would be cool if there was a GTA IV: RP or something like that, constant DM is just boring.
