Personally I have a job where I don't have necessary things I need to pay; bills, mortgage and so on. So rather than spending that money on junk food I'd much rather help out a community that is dear to me. And yea I agree that it's a little suspicious that people seem to have 'spare' money however that's my reasoning behind the funding of FractalHub, I believe I read in the frag.gs post that ev0lution's reasons are slightly similar. Whereas there is some free 'hosts' that just sort of appeared and then disappeared shortly after due to lack of funding (cough, iHost) which just adds to the suspician.
