It's still alive but the player statistics have been gradually decreasing over the past years.

You are totally right.. 20k players now, check it out tomorrow in a morning time, you'll see around 50k playing... It maybe died for you.

Firstly, welcome back. You're right about the forums though, I suppose players tend to come to forums due to scripting, so there are less these days due to not many scripters working on servers. (My opinion). Although the playerbase is still good. Might have decreased very dramatically but its still strong. I assure you that, sir.
