A Re-Created Apocalyptic Los'Santos. - rangerxxll - 05.04.2014

Well. The story behind these mappings is quite enormous. I use to be the head mapper at The Walking Dead Roleplay, but the server shut down for various reasons. So I've decided to release my work.

I've spent hours upon hours re-creating this huge apocalyptic theme to enhance the experience. Literally, I must of spent at least 50~ hours mapping this. The mappings portray a huge amount of detail and exploration. There's around 5 refuges spread across Los Santos.

I'd also like to mention that Los Santos is not 100% completed. I stopped updating it, as the server shut down as mentioned above. The City is about 70~% complete or so. The mapping has around 2,900 objects.
These mappings means a lot to me, so please - leave feedback.

If you'd like me to remove these, Getty let me know. I didn't see any harm in releasing the mappings as the community has shut down.

Download: REMOVED

Here's a few pictures displaying the re-creation.

Nah! A pile of mess is what it is.

You truly must be retarded. You obviously have no idea how big this project this is and how it would actually look in a post-apocalyptic world. He portrayed it as it should look and you're too short shit minded to understand anything that goes over some childish mapping in this section.

OT: Liked it, needs a few fixes and it'd be better than it is. And. Don't put random bushes in the middle of the street. Link them up to other vegetation or something.

I would argue that 2900 objects is really not a lot of work at all realistically with that said some of it looks good some of it looks bad to me that crane is an example of poor mapping choices, the vegetation on concrete doesn't make much sense either and that star building is just plain silly. However the piles of dirt/bricks with signs fallen on them look decent.

I built my sentence incorrectly, let me re-phrase myself. (It's late, brain doesn't function right.)

I meant that for a project this big(As big as it is.), the mapping is good and it ain't no pile of a mess. Looks like I skipped past the crane in the middle of Grove, yeah, that's shit. Star tower gives it a sense of p-apocalyptic area, but, looking upon it again, I thought to myself that why the hell would a building just fall out of nothing. I just hate dense underground hermits who give their rating without a proper criticism.

It just look creative from the pics, so I like it.

Thank you for the constructive (And not so constructive.) criticism. I appreciate it. And I'm not a professional mapper by any means. Honestly, I've never mapped before this project to tell you the truth. The star tower was a mistake on my behalf, I admit. The crane? Well. That's for you to decide, we all have our personal preferences of a apocalyptic scenario.

Thanks guys.

lower the plants on this photo and you done a perfect job

off topic.
i also came on to a plane on making some road textures you know like apocalyptic kinda roads that would fit perfect on a apocalyptic server.

Re: A Re-Created Apocalyptic Los'Santos. - rangerxxll - 05.04.2014

I haven't worked on the map for about a month now. But I may continue to update it to others preferences.

EDIT: I'd like to comment about one of the posts stating that 2,900 is not realistically big.

I understand. The thing that took the longest was scattering abandoned vehicles around every inch, corner, and road of the map. It's very time consuming. Detailing popular areas was also a time sucker as well.

Any other input regarding the map? I'd like to know how to improve in the future.

Depending on how long after the "apocalypse" happened, I'd say it needs MORE vegetation.
